CTZN: The New Makeup Brand to Know About
CTZN is the latest makeup brand to launch at The Beauty Editor and we're so excited to share the products with you! The inclusive, genderless, makeup brand has just three brilliant products: Nudiversal Lip Duo, a double-ended hydrating matte lipstick and matching gloss that comes in 25 different nude hues (explore all the shades and undertones here); Lipstroke, a vegan lip liner that comes in 5 shades and works as the perfect base for your lipstick or gloss; and Glowbalm, in clear or pearl that, when used as a highlighter, adds a pretty glow to the skin. Needless to say, we're obsessed.
The whole brand is vegetarian and the products are incredibly versatile. With Nudiversal, infused with nourishing mango butter, you can wear the lipstick alone, the gloss alone, or layer! Lipstroke can be worn under the lipstick, gloss or on its own and you can apply Glowbalm anywhere you want a dewy sheen!
Top tip: Dab a little of the lipstick onto cheeks and blend to add a hint of pretty blush to cheeks.
CTZN was created by three sisters Aleena, Aleezeh, and Naseeha Khan, who realised that not a single model in mainstream beauty campaigns looked like them, or better yet represented them. Models with ‘middle brown’ skin tones were hardly ever Southeast Asian or Middle Eastern. These same issues were prevalent in the product formulations too, where certain skin tones and undertones are often not considered. This idea of inclusivity formed the core of CTZN and expanded to embrace gender as well because men often unacknowledged in the cosmetics industry despite being a significant percentage.
The brand is 100% vegetarian, cruelty-free, paraben-free, and talc-free, so you can shop the products with confidence.
