The Best Foundation for Concealing and Perfecting in One
Have you tried the Kevyn Aucoin Foundation Balm available at The Beauty Editor in-store and online! The team here has been using the foundation for a while and is obsessed with its easy glide long-lasting formula, the ability it has to cover blemishes and redness to even out skin tone and the fact it comes with the most incredible flat-topped brush for buffing the foundation into skin for an airbrushed finish. Sounds good, right?
The mousse-like balm is packed with hyaluronic acid to smooth and hydrate the skin, nourishing Vitamin E and antioxidants that protect the skin from the environment (think city-based pollution). The Foundation Balm creates the perfect, even and radiant canvas for applying the rest of your foundation over the top. It leaves the skin with a powdery matte finish that is luminous never flat.

The free (!) brush is so good that we would pay extra for it, but you don't have to. Use it to apply the foundation with ease, it's the perfect size for buffing across chin, cheeks and forehead, but also for getting into crevices around the nose and eyes.
"I love this foundation balm for makeup touch-ups," says our founder, Fara. "The pot is super handy for carrying in your handbag and it's the perfect way to perfect your complexion on-the-go without using powder, which can leave makeup cakey."
Kevyn Aucoin Foundation Balm, €46
Now, although this is packed with hyaluronic acid, if you have very dry skin, you might find you need to apply a super nourishing moisturiser or oil before buffing on this foundation, or try a liquid formula like the illuminating The Etherialist Foundation, €62.
