Want to get rid of frizzy hair? We hear you. For smoother strands, look no further than our top tips and product recommendations that really work. Whether your hair is frizzy because it's dry, damaged or the humidity has got to it, we know how frustrating frizzy hair can be. It can make you feel unkempt and, let's face it, pretty annoyed if you step out of your house with perfectly styled hair just for frizz to appear hours later. Follow out 7 tips for frizz-free hair below.
But first, what actually causes frizz in the first place?
Frizz can happen to the best of us. Strands frizz up when they are dry and lacking in moisture. If the weather is humid, which means there is water vapour in the air, and your hair is dry or damaged then your strands can take on moisture from the air causing the hair to turn frizzy faster than you can say 'get me a hat!'.
Frizz Tip #1: Get regular trims.
If your hair is damaged then moisture can easily get in, so be sure to avoid split ends with a trim every 6-8 weeks if you're prone to frizz.
Frizz Tip #2: Start fighting frizz in the shower!
Look to smoothing shampoos and conditioners that will hydrate and nourish the strands, as well as helping to prevent frizz from setting in. We love Virtue Smooth Shampoo, from €17, and Smooth Conditioner, from €18.
Frizz Tip #3: Don't rub your hair dry with a towel.
Use a microfibre towel that gently soaks up the water. Alternatively, use a cotton T-shirt to gently squeeze your strands. Leave your hair to air dry 90% and then use a hairdryer to get it 100% dry. A diffuser attachment is the best way to avoid frizz when blow-drying frizz-prone strands, especially very curly hair.

Frizz Tip #4: Always use a heat protector.
A heat protector will prevent your strands from getting damaged. Damaged strands let moisture in more easily which leads to frizz! Try Ouai Memory Mist, €29, that protects from heat and helps your style stay in place for longer (without the crunch that some hairsprays can leave).
Frizz Tip #5: Moisturise your hair.
If your hair is fine, look to a lightweight cream. Thicker hair will benefit from a gloss-boosting oil. You can apply both textures to strands that are towel-dried or dry -ideal for taming frizz on-the-go. Try Oribe Supershine Light Moisturizing Cream, €51, or Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil, €52.

Frizz Tip #6: Use a mask.
Once or twice a week use a treatment mask like Virtue Restorative Treatment Mask, from €32, to keep hair in tip-top condition.
Frizz Tip #7: Tackle frizz from the inside out!
Try the Ouai Dry Supplements, €30, that contain nourishing Vitamin E, iron, and silica to hydrate strands from the inside and bolster your haircare routine.
